It's been a while since the last proper update, and that's mostly because we've had our heads down building. Here's what's new, what's changed, and where Lavvus is heading.
A new website.
We started with a fresh coat of paint and then went a bit further. The new lavvus.com is cleaner, clearer, and better at telling the story of what Lavvus actually is: a simple, no-nonsense home for your writing. If you haven't seen it yet, go take a look at lavvus.com.
Infrastructure, rebuilt properly.
This one doesn't come with a flashy announcement, but it matters. We've done significant work on the infrastructure that powers Lavvus. Things that were held together with good intentions and duct tape now run the way they should. Faster, more stable, more resilient. You probably won't notice and that's exactly the point. The best infrastructure is the kind you never have to think about.
A better API.
The Lavvus API has been improved across the board. More reliable, better structured, and ready for the kind of integrations people have started building on top of it. Whether you're syncing content from another source, automating posts from a side project, or experimenting with something entirely your own, it's a lot smoother now.
Webhooks.
This is the one we're genuinely excited about. Webhooks let you trigger actions the moment something gets published on your Lavvus blog. That opens up real automation: notify a channel, post to social, kick off a workflow, ping an external service. The publishing event is yours to do something with. We're curious what people will build.
A blog close to my heart.
One of the best things about building Lavvus is seeing who shows up to use it. A recent example that means a lot to me personally: Soverin - the privacy-first email company I co-founded - now has a blog on the Road to CloudFest right here on Lavvus. Two things I built, sharing the same values: own your data, own your voice, keep it simple and honest. If you haven't heard of Soverin, it's worth a look. Private email, your own domain, no tracking, no ads, the way email should work. And now, a blog too: lavv.us/blog/soverin.
Founding members: you're still on.
If you joined Lavvus early, your access remains free. That hasn't changed and won't change. We're grateful you've been here from the start, and if there's something you'd like to see built or improved, we're always listening.
There's more coming. For now, just write.
